SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES FOR EACH PLAYER

· To achieve a sense of team and enthusiasm

· To learn the basic soccer terms and all different positions

· To favour enthusiasm and perseverance during training sessions

· To know and practice proper techniques

· To learn to communicate amongst the team and with the coach

 

Five basic aspects of the training program are:

1. Physical: - (Physical Conditioning and Coordination)  Develop endurance, speed, balance, coordination, jumping ability, change of speed, rhythm, etc.

2. Technical – Carry the ball, ball control, touch, shooting, headers, communication, etc.

3. Tactical – Game plays, standing ball, moving ball, corner shots, free shots, combination shots, penalty shots, challenges, knowledge of positions, rules, etc.

4. Psychological – Control fear and anxiety, possess self-confidence.  Learn from mistakes, learn to lose & win, attitude, character, etc.

5. Recreational – Various recreational exercises and games, relaxation.

It is important for parents and players to keep in mind that at this stage, each individual is learning the sport and developing skills and abilities.  Results will come with time and will depend on the commitment of each player.  Emphasis is on learning and having fun while doing it!
